A Letter From Mrs. Maines...

Picture

May 10, 2012

Dear parents,

The days just seem to be getting busier and busier around SSPP. It’s just that time of the year.

Progress reports for students will be posted on E-school where you may view them. If you do not have an E-school account, you must let the school office know. We will not be mailing progress reports, since we already pay for the E-school service. Please note that not all students will receive a progress report.

A letter was sent out to all eighth grade parents outlining all of the special events affiliated with the eighth grade year. Please note the dress codes for most of the events. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Hill or Ackerman for help. Thank you!

I have applications for the St. Vincent de Paul Summer Camp in my office. The camp is located in Angola, New York and has operated for the past 87 years. It is residential and for children aged 8-13. Open Houses will be held on May 19th & 20th and again on June 3rd. Please call 549-2950 for more information.

Have you sold or purchased your sweepstakes tickets yet? Time is quickly running out. There are $10,000 in cash prizes and a special incentive for school parents. For every ticket you sell over the required ten, a ticket in your name is put into a bucket toward a super prize - a full year’s tuition valued at $2800! All prizes will be drawn between 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the beer tent at the 5K Race on May 19th. You need not be present to win; you will be called if you are one of the lucky ones! If you choose not to sell your ten tickets, your tuition account balance will reflect the outstanding $150, as per our school handbook.

On June 8th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Ss. Peter & Paul School invites you to our 2nd Annual Night at the Arts. Please come to experience extraordinary children’s art pieces, music, glass for sale, crafts, live art and even face-painting . The best part of all of this is that the artists belong to you! Mrs. McIntyre and Mrs. Anain are coordinating this event, and I am very excited to be there.

There are just two more days until the Father/Daughter Dance. I really enjoy the way our mothers transform the gym into a magical place, the yummy food and great music, but, most of all, I love to watch our beautiful young ladies and their handsome dates have fun together. The event begins at 6:30 and ends at 9:00.

Here are just a few reminders of the busy days ahead:

  • May 11 – Jeans Day
  • May 14 – Diocesan Track Meet
  • May 15-16 – School Uniform Day (Maverly’s will be here to measure your child and take orders from 8:00-10:00 & 6:00-8:00)
  • May 17 – School liturgy for Ascension Thursday & 8th Gr. Photo
  • May 18 – Eighth Grade Paraliturgy at 7:45, Flip-flop Friday for all 5K participants (race tee shirt with uniform and flip-flops
  • May 19 – Charge of the Knights Race and sweepstakes party with drawings

During this week we have celebrated our wonderful teachers. We have given them cards and flowers and even gifts to let them know just how much we value them. Our teachers at this school work very hard, work long hours, and really love our children. I am in awe of how perceptive, kind and skilled they are at their profession. I am so blessed and so are your children. I salute the teachers of Ss. Peter & Paul School.

It was also the time to celebrate our nurses this week. Our hats are off to Michele Hillebrand, Donna Postek, Maureen Haumesser and Vida Frysz, who staff our Health Office. They give first aid to our kids, and it’s always covered with love. Ladies, thank you for all of the extras you do, for your warmth in that cold office, and for your laughter.

Have a great weekend with your families.

Sincerely,

Marianne Maines
