Theme Tray Auction and Family Social

Friday, Feb. 10, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Mark your calendar now!! It's time again for SSPP's Theme Tray Auction with all proceeds benefiting our school. Every family is asked to make a theme tray to be raffled off Chinese auction style. The trays should have a value of $10 - $15, and should be wrapped or secured to prevent the tray from losing its contents. Trays can dropped off to the main office anytime but we would like all baskets in by Friday, February 3 if possible. A booklet will be distributed the night of the auction with the trays listed.

If anyone wishes to donate a larger valued item for the auction (i.e. Sabres tickets, $50 - $100 gift certificate, etc) please let us know. These larger items will be in a separate auction.

Activities, snacks & drinks and a G-rated movie for younger children will be offered in the cafeteria. (Babysitting will be provided - free of charge)

Here are some ideas to help get your creative minds thinking:

Lottery Tree - multiple lottery cards

Holiday Baskets - Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Christmas

Sabres/Bills basket - lots of different Sabres/Bills items to choose from

Winter Survival Basket - hat, gloves, scarf, chapstick, ice scraper

Movie Night - movie passes or Blockbuster card, popcorn, candy

Birthday Bash - items to complete a perfect birthday party

Arts/Crafts basket - crayons, markers, paper, scissors

Summer basket - flip flops, goggles, beach towel, sunglasses

These are only suggestions and we hope they help you come up with some interesting ideas.

7th Grade and Kindergarten Service Project

7th grade will be collecting hats and mittens for the teenage and adult students of Cantalician Center in Buffalo. This school helps to educate the developmentally handicapped from ages infant to adult. The groups that usually get left out a Christmas time are the older students. We need to collect 125 hats and mittens.
The 7th graders will also be making homemade scarves in Religion class. Kindergarten will create cards for each student and can also help collect the hats and mittens if they would like.
We need to have everything collected, packed and sent to the Center by the end of November.
PLEASE HELP US IF YOU CAN TO REACH OUR GOAL!

Always Newsworthy...

"Making a Difference" Award

Picture

SSPP's own, Denise Amato, has earned the "Making a Difference" Award established by the late Tim Russert in 2002 in honor of Sr. Lucille Socciarelli and Fr. John Sturm. The award is given annually at the "Making a Difference" Dinner-A Celebration of Catholic Schools to honor a teacher in the Diocese of Buffalo who demonstrates extraordinary dedication as a Catholic educator and who makes a difference in the life of her students. This year's dinner was held on January 28, 2010 at the Adams Mark Hotel.
