Future City Competition
SSPP has formed its 3rd team to compete in The National Engineers Week Future City Competition in January 2012. The competition is open to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students and is designed to help foster an interest in math, science and engineering. Components of the competition include a computer design and model of a future city, a narrative and an oral presentation. This year's theme is "Fuel Your Future". Students will choose one energy source and design a way to generate electric power for their city that does not deplete natural resources and has limited impact on the environment.
This year's mentors are Mrs. Quinn, Mrs. Bartlo, and Mr. Brooks. Contact Mrs. Quinn ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) if you have any questions or want to be involved.
